Nintendo have dropped yet another set of fixes for Splatoon 2, addressing some issues introduced in the last update.
It’s never fun to have to clean up a mess you made by trying to improve something, but that’s just what Nintendo had to do after they released version 2.2.0 of Splatoon 2 just recently. This follow up patch was meant to fix the issues introduced with that previous patch, so if you’ve been having issues recently hopefully this will solve them.
Here are the official patch notes from Nintendo;
Changes to Multiplayer
• Fixed an issue when playing Splat Zones in Shellendorf Institute where certain obstacles were only appearing on one team’s side of the map.
• Fixed an issue in which a fully-charged shot from the Bamboozler 14 Mk I would pass through things such as other players, just as with other fully-charged Charger shots.
Changes to Salmon Run
• Fixed an issue in which a fully-charged shot from the Bamboozler 14 Mk I would pass through things such as Chums, just as with other fully-charged Charger shots.
Splatoon 2 has now been updated to version 2.2.1. To ensure you’ve got it simply navigate to the icon on your Switch, hit “+” on your controller, and go to software update > via the internet on-screen.
I haven’t heard about any other updates in the pipeline, so you might be safe to actually play the game now. 😉
